Random Silliness

Catching up once again... plowing through a few months' worth of pictures, so will have some great stuff for you soon. We'll start with some silliness:

Notice pen marks on the chin ("Zain have ink.")

Killing time waiting for Mum Mum to get off work (no, we aren't driving!)

Another day, another mohawk. Actually, we called this one a "yohawk" because I believe the "gel" was vanilla yogurt.

Ahem....

"What??"

The comedian

Trying to visit the fish at the zoo with Auntie Michelle

Hanging with an anteater at the zoo

... and kissing the anteater

Dr. Z "going to Ominy-beel opital to elp people." [actual quote - "going to Orangeville Hospital to help people."]

A lonesome cowboy and his harmonica

Saved this one for last.... checking out Uncle Stu and Paul's cats' accommodations

Wiggling!

We had a very cool experience this week, thanks to Zain's Uncle Paul (the Uncle Paul in Toronto, not the one in Ohio - it's very confusing to him to have two Uncle Pauls!). Toronto Paul works on the Canadian Good Morning America or Today Show equivalent, Canada AM, and he invited us to the taping of the Wiggles appearance on the show this week.

Zain has watched very little TV in his two-year life besides the occasional Wiggles episode. The show somehow became our go-to distraction when we needed to trim his nails, cut his hair, or take his temperature. When he was younger, these were all considered to be forms of torture, and the magical TV box distracted him enough for us to do our evil deeds. I think the Wiggles was probably the first show we happened upon on one of these occasions; he liked it and it seemed inoffensive enough, so we recorded a few episodes to use on special occasions. (It's possible that Zain's parents have also grown to like the Wiggles, considering we both have been caught humming a wiggly tune now and then.)

So, when we heard the Wiggles were going to be in town this week so we got tickets to their concert this Saturday. And then Paul hooked us up with an up close and personal view (including the new Wiggles who will be replacing some of the retiring ones... I know way too much Wiggle trivia these days....). Paul made sure Zain got a front row seat, and Z spent most of it mesmerized, although he did bust a few moves, too.

I wasn't sitting next to him, but I'm pretty sure Zain (bottom right)
is saying "that the Wiggles!"

There was about half an hour between the Wiggles' interview and their performance. Canada AM may never do that again. In the interim, children flooded the stage, turning into tiny human bumper cars. One unidentified two-year-old (ahem...) even tried to tear down the set....

Hanging out

Zain had a great seat, and thankfully didn't try to run up and
say hi to the Wiggles during live TV

Zain prefers his own choreography, thank you

Zain "doing the tiger" and the elephant, and then going back to just staring

You can see the whole interview by clicking here. At about 1:10 of the video, there's a close-up of Zain seemingly ready to steal another kid's Red Wiggle doll. No such "sharing" actually occurred. And you can see the whole performance by clicking here. Lots of shots of Zain mostly just staring at the spectacle.
